nj at four months

i thought it only appropriate to recreate these photos with nora jane. i'm a month late, but better late than never they say. after staring at my sweet little girls, it's obvious that:

a) we create nice, round heads. emphasis on round.

b) both girls inherited their father's eyebrows. is a kindergarten wax too soon? jk, jk.
c) where did these dark eyes come from? both girls have dark blue-gray eyes.

nora has still not learned the art of sleeping, but everything else about her makes up for my constant state of tiredness. a baby is so hard and so wonderful all at once--a study in balance and patience. but now i know how quickly the moments pass, and i'm trying to soak in her littleness.

oh, how we adore this girl.

matchy matchy

lately, i feel like i could spend days on the internet. there are so many articles to read! and news to keep up on! and pinterest projects i dream of getting done! and blogs to read! and emails to write! and apartments to search for! i don't know how to do it all...at all. 

but i do know how to dress my children in matching outfits. i can't stop.

sage now has an opinion about her wardrobe and would rather wear footie fleece pajamas and pink rain boots every day. when i mention the magic word sister, she'll usually cooperate.

duke, duke, duke

i've been surprised at how fun duke basketball games are. there is so much involved to even GET a ticket (camping out for days, having your name drawn in a lottery, etc.) that the fans are crazy. crazy loyal and crazy loud. 

i snuck away from the girls one night to hit up a game with nate and had to learn how all the cheers go. the best thing about watching games at cameroon indoor is being up close and personal with the players and the court. 

a peek of my favorite pre-game song:

we came home in the middle of our spring break trip for nate to watch duke annihilate unc. he and his buddies went to the game seven hours early to get good seats. he came home with stories of famous people sightings and with his ears still ringing. 

 go blue devils! and what i mean is, go jabari parker!

life as we know it

sometimes sage hangs out in undies and a smock. have you ever heard a two year-old say "smock"? you should.

wild hair, crusty peanut butter on her face, in deep concentration.

i like these sunny afternoons playing with paint, taking our time.
