while booking our flights to america for the holidays, we got ambitious. why not see a little of the world on the way? i had always wanted to visit the german christmas markets, so to frankfurt, germany we went. our layover was only about 14 hours, but we made the most of it. when we got tired or needed to unthaw from the freezing weather, we just settled into the nearest starbucks--there were many. i went on a tour of the market while nate and sage napped in a comfy arm chair at a department store.
not only was everything presented beautifully, it tasted delicious.
nate chose a real german brat for his lunch.
i chose hot chocolate and the best candied almonds i've ever tasted.

surprisingly, i loved germany best out of the places we visited. the market was more than charming and the people were kind. i didn't take many night pictures because we were exhausted by that point, but it was truly magical with the lights, the smells, and the hustle and bustle of people everywhere. it made me love christmas 100x more than i already did.
Beautiful pictures. Sage is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am jealous that you went outside the Frankfurt airport, which is more than I did when I was there. We spent our 6-hour layover with me lying nauseous on the floor in some weird corner while Russ fanned my face with a German newspaper. Disappointing.
