krabi, thailand: railay bay

we waded into the ocean with our luggage to hop on a long boat to railay bay. i expected amazing, but i think the beautiful cliffs and lush jungle exceeded my expectations.

while the "sheese" and onion sounded tempting, of course we went with a banana nutella thai pancake.

nate egged the monkeys on and eventually got one to take a banana from his mouth...

i accidentally forgot my swim suit of all things, but jane came to the rescue with an extra! good thing, because my choices at the hotel gift shop were basically a crocheted triangle top or rainbow ruffle dress in size 000.

baby sage got lots of walking practice in. she was spoiled with attention.
linds even taught her how to high five!

we came home with dried sand on our feet, covered in mosquito bites, a little sunburned, and wishing we were still sipping fresh banana smoothies on the pristine beach (ahem. some of us were wishing to be back on the massage table). we love you, thailand.

krabi, thailand: muang

krabi is paradise. and i've got way too many photos to prove it.
my good lens cracked in india, so the 50mm was all i had. not so great for breathtaking landscapes, so some of these memories were taken by friends.

we spent two nights in muang and two nights in railay bay with great friends relaxing, elephant trekking, cheap massage-ing, drinking fresh smoothies, eating pad thai, boating, snorkeling, playing cards, watching sunsets, swimming, and napping.
this was our first "real" vacation this year...as in, nate was not working! hooray!

i let sage go for it on the beach...she was pretty happy about all that squishy sand.

IMG_2331
since we had the pool to ourselves, we stripped her and let that diaper get reeeeal heavy...then let her skinny dip for a quick second (love that lily white baby) while the sunset lit up the sky.

the elephant trek lulled sage right to sleep, but she did wake up nice and sweaty to feed the elephants...

password: elephant
and yeah, i'm gonna have to apologize for my high-pitched mom voice. what can i say? i was excited.

she smiles easily, but it takes something reeeeeallllly funny to get a laugh out of her

IMG_2146
still very into tasting everything.
and before you judge me for snapping a photo instead of running to stop her...it was just too late.

IMG_2015
scrunched face + heavy breathing has been making an appearance.
we think it's hilarious.

IMG_2123
she's taken an interest in the playground.
probably because it is littered with tempting leaves to chew on.

she just can't be bothered to pause for photos. there are too many more exciting things.

in nate's words, "what little girl wants to look like her dad?"
but alas, those squinty smile eyes point to one person.
she is definitely nate's daughter.
