i tolerate basketball.
i never played growing up because we were skiers. we always went skiing as a family every saturday in the winter, meaning basketball was out. i liked the occasional game of p-i-g in my driveway, but let's face it - i'm pretty awful at basketball.
fast forward to nate. he LOVES basketball. lives and breathes the lakers and cougars. spends a good chunk of his life watching and reading espn columns. i try to get into it, but me getting into it translates into watching khloe and lamar's wedding on keeping up with the kardashians. i do love playoff games though, when the stakes are high. and i'll never say no to watching a game in person.
i get that the whole world loves jimmer fredette, and i'll admit that i've liked watching him play this season. but last night, i proved myself. nate was out of town. i had a highly anticipated netflix dvd waiting for me. instead, i watched the byu game. all of it. i cheered out loud and even clapped. AND i watched the sports center conversation after the game. all by myself!
i told nate he better be proud. that's a big step for me. i really do love watching jimmer. basketball, i'll give you a chance.
Haha, I loved this!! Something about watching Jimmer is irresistible. We've definitely fallen into Jimmermania this season.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I think we are a lot alike. I watched basketball for the first time in forever last night. It was such a GOOD game!! Wow! Funny thing is Christian wasn't even watching (he's a football guy not basketball).
ReplyDeletei know you really watched it. and it made me ashamed that i was so exhausted that i fell asleep wth 8 minutes left. what a bad coug.
ReplyDeleteIts weird how basketball obsessed husbands some how rub off on you. I honestly think I know more about the Lakers and UNLV (in our household) than most of his friends! Weird.
