motherhood

i read this article a few weeks ago and i'm still thinking about it. especially this part:

My mother didn’t specialize in home decor or gourmet cooking, and she didn’t lift weights or run marathons. But she makes me feel like I am the most important, wonderful person ever born.

isn't that the point of motherhood?
my own mom whipped up my prom dress vision on her sewing machine, let me use puffy paint to my eight year-old heart's content, made sure we ate delicious meals together as a family, sat on my bed every single night to chat with me about my day, and graciously hosted all my friends for breakfast at midnight countless times.
she is still my best teacher, example, and friend.
but even if i can't do and be all that she is, or even live out my pinned ideas on the internet,
i'm determined that sage will always feel like she is the most important, wonderful person ever born.

...and in all honesty, i hope i can be a really fun mom while i'm at it.
