happy year of the snake!
some friends and i took our littles to a gorgeous monastery all dressed up in their silk chinese outfits. and because i can't decide on one, i'm including lots of pictures. it was chaotic and hilarious trying to get all the kids to look the same way, let alone smile. it was a dance of bribing kids with raisins, sprinting out of the pictures as they were snapped, and dodging the rain.
we trekked through the crowded chinatown markets this week, picking up pineapple tarts and tasting new things like candied water chestnuts. yellow lanterns are hung across the streets in the shape of a snake for good luck.
in traditional chinese new year fashion, we gathered with friends for a reunion dinner, and the kids received red envelopes of money. singapore is quiet for the next few days as stores are closed and people are visiting their families. i love this holiday!
the 2nd to last picture on this post of sage is absolutely heart melting!!!! her skin: so creamy & perfect. her smile is contagious! you have a gap kids model on your hands, sistah.
