the longer i am a mother, the deeper and more profound my appreciation for my own mother grows. i'm sure i knew what a mess i'd be sometimes and chose my strong, thoughtful, selfless mother to be mine. my life has been filled with motherly influences and examples, and now it's up to me to learn to be like them. i love my little girls fiercely, and i got all weepy thinking about them today.
i interviewed sage this morning, and her two year-old-ness really shines through since the answers seem to be more about her :) everyone's favorite food is oranges. always.

as i tucked sage into bed the other night with her legs covered in princess band aids, she sleepily whispered, "mom, thank you for my band aids. you are so beautiful." my heart stops every time i see her looking older, but i love the girl she is becoming. i feel a lot of responsibility for these sweet girls of mine, and i'd be lost without my own mom to turn to!
