good things come in short sentences

i was complaining to my mom last week about having to teach all summer, and still keep up with grad classes, and not being able to come home to washington, and not shop the way i used to, among other things. i was an ungrateful, selfish version of myself, exacerbated by not getting enough sleep.

the next day, my school said, "hey, don't work in august. come back in september." can you say biggest blessing?! now i feel ridiculous for all that complaining. and i am, once again, reminded that i am beyond blessed (and that i consciously chose to be a part of all these things that stress me out!).

i can't wait to lay eyes on this place.

  1. I'm so happy you get to visit Seattle! I love that city so much! I am dreaming of making a permanent move there after Pittsburgh! And I am also so happy you get work off in August! It sounds like a much needed break! Can't wait to see you!!

  2. I know you want to make a quick stop in Arizona on your way back from Seattle... Mesa in August is probably the hottest place on earth. You have to say you've been there right? Ok, maybe just Griff and I can be the reason you stop in.

So glad you get a break... you deserve it!!
