singapore finally feels like home.
when we got back from our most recent trip, sage immediately crawled over to her books and grinned. i loved coming home to our little space with everything in its place.

we live a pretty simple life here, and i like it that way.
it has definitely made me reevaluate what's important in life. like, what is even in our storage unit back in chicago? well, besides winter clothes and my beloved kitchenaid mixer. i want to remember these days when our family was small, we could pick up and go anywhere, and my schedule revolved around nap time and afternoon rains, because i know it won't be this way forever...

8:15 am. hot chocolate pour moi (yes, even in singapore) and fresh mango rice cereal for sagie.
9:00 am. dressed and ready in a new pair of bloomers.
those thighs! love!
9:15 am. a morning walk sprinkled with errands. post office first.

9:45 am. to the wet market for fresh fruit, then back home for a nap.

11:30 am. and the rain came tumbling down.

11:45 am. up and at 'em. while i clean, sage empties the sock drawer.

12:30 pm. a visitor for lunch. dad's office is a five minute walk from home.

1:30 pm. pool time.

2:15 pm. all done. the cue for another nap.

2:25 pm. i quickly do the dishes before nap time. this is our whole entire tiny dish rack--it's like tetris.
as sage snoozes, i perfect the art of being silent (her room is a closet with no door) while getting sucked into the world of downton abbey.

4:00 pm. to 6:30 pm. a whirlwind of playing, dinner, dishes, clean up, bath, jammies. i make chinese dumplings from scratch for the first time, and freeze the extras.

6:45 pm. stories. pride and prejudice and goodnight moon are favorites.

7:00 pm. goodnight sage. dad goes to play basketball, and i catch up on email, read, and clean up some more. how do these hours fly by so quickly?
10:00 pm. a new episode of modern family is waiting for us. we make some popcorn for good measure.
sometimes we have pilates, play group with other moms, outings, grocery runs, etc. mixed in too.
but i'm grateful for this simple life.

She is so cute! I can't wait to get her and Camden together for some baby play time! This Christmas is going to be wild!

ReplyDeleteI love day in the life posts. I'm so happy you're loving these days in a cool city.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm jealous of your simple life (don't get me wrong, I love my life too:) You are exactly right though, live it up now! Once you add a few more kids, there are blessings galore, but I don't think simplicity is one of them.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are living the life. I am just loving Singapore through pictures. You are an amazing photographer!
