cambodia: siem reap

when we weren't hiking around temples, we spent our time checking out the city of siem reap.
we found some great restaurants and sharpened our bargaining techniques with tuk tuk drivers and at markets. at $4-$6 per pair, will i ever buy real raybans?

we had a sweet experience picking up rice and canned goods at the market to deliver to families in need in the local church congregation. they welcomed us into their homes as the boys carried in these heavy bags of food that would last them a month. they were so grateful, and eager to show us their homes with mud floors, sheet metal siding, thatched roofs, and skinny chickens wandering around.

i was so impressed by the faithfulness of these people.

more beautiful children.
people told me i'd fall in love with the cambodian children, and they were right.

i'm really grateful we got to experience the kingdom of cambodia (i say that smiling, but that is really what our visas say..."welcome to the kingdom of cambodia").
