i am a georgia peach. my parents lived there for many years before packing up shop and deciding to be west coasters. they've always recounted fun memories at hilton head island, so we put this scenic town on our itinerary.
the good news is that disney's hilton head island resort had awesome off-season rates. the bad news is that it rained the entire time we were there. i threw a sweater in my luggage "just in case" and ended up spending a week in it.
the boys played a soggy round of golf while the girls dashed through the downpour for pedicures. fortunately, our condo at disney was brand newly renovated and perfect for our days stuck inside. sage's highlight was taking a cousin bath (a.k.a. free-for-all craziness) in the huge jacuzzi tub. we took the kids to a bedtime story event and i remembered why i love disney for the hundredth time--our kids had sparkles in their eyes and balloon creations in their hands.
we ventured out to explore the harbour town lighthouse, but i was pretty ready to get back inside when my umbrella flipped inside out from the crazy wind/rain at the top of the lighthouse. we need to plan a redemption trip and come back to hh in the summer. despite the weather, we loved this area.
