on our last exploring day, i took the girls to dolores park to play in the sun. i love LOVE this corner of the mission. the people watching at dolores can't be beat. plus, we were serenaded by some guy's outdoor oboe practice. swings, oboe music, sun, and one last cone at bi-rite creamery.
we've been working on being friendly since sage is so shy sometimes. she'd watch another kid, then casually walk past and say, "hi!" but the best part was after, when she'd yell, "MOM! i was FRIENDLY!" with a huge grin on her face.
as i drove up and down those steep hills and drooled over the incredible homes, i was wondering how much we'd need to come up with to live atop dolores park.
the bougainvillea! heart eye emoticons for days.
that same day, we hit the lyon street steps and meandered down my favorite row of insanely gorgeous homes in pac heights, then spent time at the palace of fine arts, perfecting the art of rolling down grass hills.
we topped it all off with off the grid for dinner. nate was wrapping up things at work and couldn't meet us for dinner, so sage and i shared a senor sisig filipino fusion burrito.
as we walked out of fort mason across the huge expanse of grass pushed up against the ocean with the golden gate bridge lingering in the distance, the sunlight was perfection. sage laughed and somersaulted, and i tried to cement that moment in my forgetful mind.
