thank goodness seattle is close to sf because i have loved having my parents visit twice this summer. my mom and sister planned a little girls getaway, but dad couldn't bear the thought of missing out (okay...and the dodgers happened to play the giants that weekend. and FOMO runs deep in my family) so he came too. if you know my dad, you know he makes everything more fun.

we kept sage up late with a date at bi-rite the night everyone flew in. i guess it means we've been indulging quite a bit this summer when she ordered her own "roasted banana, please!" with no hesitation. we cruised around the mission the next day, popping in tartine and taqueria cancun...and maybe, possibly bi-rite again.

we drove all around the city, stopping to peek at places like haight-ashbury and the seward concrete slides. we rode the golden gate carousel and played on the swings.

the giants played the dodgers! we cheered for royal blue, some of us more obnoxious than others...
i love this stadium, with all the water and bridges and boats and islands in view.

we rented go-cars on saturday morning. i half-listened to the instruction video, thinking how hard can this be. to put it lightly, good thing my sister drives a moped to school because she was coaching me the whole time i steered us around the city. it's been one of my favorite things we've done though!

nate and the little girls fell asleep in the car, so we strolled along baker beach for a perfect view of the golden gate bridge. we also accidentally had a perfect view of all the nudists tanning on the beach...and they were mostly old men. yikes. the combo of sand + nudity makes me want to take a shower.

 

after a stop at alamo square park for a sunny view of the painted ladies, we went to golden gate park band's disney concert. did you know they've been playing for 132 seasons? we successfully got my family hooked on twirl and dip too.

dad flew home at the end of our action-packed weekend and the girls' portion began with sleeping in. we browsed the nordstrom sale and lunched with nate at google. i say a google stop is never complete without a photo booth session. a quick cable car ride for steph before her flight, and they were off.

i'd relive this kind of weekend any time. we have loved having visitors this summer!
