^^ the smallest official park in the united states
we took a few side trips during our long winter break in january. jeanette and i have been friends since birth and i was so excited to see her family in portland. we got to meet little holland and explore the city of roses. our girls were so cute together–giggling, tickling, and climbing all over each other at their first sleepover.
i could spend hours in powell's books, but we picked up a few things then lunched at the food truck gathering nearby. voodoo donuts was closed for renovations, so we hit blue star instead.
st. honoré boulangerie for brunch. i gifted my dad this book for christmas, but it came in handy for our weekend trip. thanks jeanette and todd!
^^hot apple cider in the intrawest resort club lobby is a must
i love, love, love being in whistler, canada.
it is the place of my happiest memories. my lovely parents booked a night at their condo so we could get in some whistler time. even better? nate rented SKIS and we got to hit the mountain without kids. i accidentally took him down a pretty steep black diamond for his first run on skis since age 12, but he was a good sport and caught on quickly.
a blue bird day even!
loaded waffles at crystal hut for brunch
nate was speedy and i rarely slowed down for him
my mom switched with nate and we got a few runs in before the lifts closed. a short, but sweet trip to these beautiful mountains.
