i think you and me were meant to be a perfect memory

that's a line from a new song i found that i love {happy little pea by rabbit}. i was an editing and english major and incorrect grammar and spelling is sometimes like nails on a chalkboard for me. but i also kind of enjoy not following the rules. capitalization is overrated and "me" sounds better than "i" once in awhile.

i've been thinking about details. i tend to either get caught up in them too much or not notice them enough. one thing i really loved on our recent trip was soaking up the details...

and now they are perfect memories. one of my favorite women said...

"the trick is to enjoy life. don't wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead"

and that's where details come in. instead of wishing away the rest of the week by wednesday, i'm going to appreciate the details of each day...like the pink paint smudges on my white shirt from painting with bubbles outside in the sun with my preschoolers, or the dirty pan sitting in our sink that reminds me of the amazing breakfast nate made me over the weekend {promise i'll wash it soon}, or the sun shining over lake michigan and making the water sparkle as i drive to work each morning. that's my focus right now.
appreciate the details of every day.
