our girl turned three this weekend!
nate pointed out that we've celebrated her birthday in seattle, singapore, and now san francisco, so it's only fair we go to some cool "s" place to celebrate next year.
she is a lover of carousels, a doer of puzzles, and a wearer of jackets with hoods (don't even think about taking off her hood).
sage is painfully shy sometimes, but is also the child who sings herself to sleep at night. i'm always surprised at her sharp memory and the way she observes every little detail. she loves her baby sister fiercely and casually says, "oh hey, nate," when her dad walks through the door after work. she keeps us laughing...and keeps me calling my mom often when i'm not quite sure how to best raise this sensitive, stubborn soul.

for her third birthday, we met friends at the carousel in golden gate park. the cloudy, cool weather we'd anticipated in june has been absent. sunny skies every day! a playground fall tainted the morning for miss sage, but we still had ice cream for lunch. we walked over to twirl and dip for vanilla bean soft serve dipped in tcho dark chocolate and sprinkled with maldon sea salt, all perched atop a homemade sugar cone. thanks for the tip, kylee!
we ended this beautiful saturday with the dinner of champions (if you're sage): annie's macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, and fresh raspberries...and with a birthday cake! sprinkles, naturally. she was tickled that we got her an actual birthday cake. "are you going to sing happy birthday about ME?!" she would ask excitedly.
i am so in love with this age. we truly adore you, sage elizabeth.
Sweet little Sage. We are such big fans and miss her so much! Jonathan looked over my shoulder as I read this and exclaimed, "Mommy! Sage is so grown up and pretty!"
ReplyDeleteAnd, as a side, the picture of her jumping on the bed is magical. Well, done!
