sage has quite the personality these days. her most loved toy is a broken cell phone my sister gave her. sage has lengthy conversations, usually with her aunt akasha, but ranging from grandma to pumba from the lion king. she talked on her fake phone the entire time we grocery shopped at trader joe's the other day. her conversations, with inflection and pauses, seem so real that a few people stopped me to ask if she was actually talking to someone on the phone.
she calls her things her "stuffings" and loves to pack around a purse full of odds and ends. "mom! i need my stuffings before we go!"
very seriously after i french braided her hair: "mom, thank you so very much for my elsa braids. i like your...(as she examines my horrendous messy bun) cinderella bun..."
in a prayer: "we're thankful we don't listen to tarzan music on sunday..."
she sings about things we are passing and phrases we say to her. an original composition from our car ride today: "here are your options! go down the hill and it's a red liiiiiiight. don't put your feet in babies' faces because there is a dog and oh! a buuuuuusssss!" all sung to her own tune, of course.
when you ask her to do something, she often answers, "absolutely!"
only, it comes out as ab-so-wute-wee!
only, it comes out as ab-so-wute-wee!
sometimes when sage can't fall asleep, i take her fingers one at a time and tell her ten things i love about her. tonight she took mine and sighed, "mom, i love that you watch me skateboard. i love that you are so special to me."
She is so cute and I can't believe how grown up she is now. I'm hanging out with Akasha right now and wish I could see you and meet Nora.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could meet Andrew! :( So glad you have your sweet sister there. Looks like the cousins are in heaven at the cabin!
DeleteThis made me laugh so hard! She is the best. (Also, whenever I have a messy bun Surrey also calls it my 'Cinderella bun'... Are they mocking us do you think? It starts so young...)
