happy birthday! have a broken leg.

after sage's little birthday mishap where she tripped running downhill at the playground, she refused to put weight on her leg for a few days. i feel terrible now for thinking she was just being dramatic. we finally took her in to see a doctor and she has a clean break in her tibia just above the ankle...the SAME leg she broke in march! i've been assured her bones are just fine. she's unlucky i guess. 

in full disclosure, sage fell asleep on the way to get her cast put on. i tried to wake her up to let her pick the color, but she was dead asleep--limbs splayed out--on the table. so i chose light blue. it matches everything and neon pink isn't my thing. the cast man asked twice to make sure i wanted blue for my little girl. yep!

i don't love character stuff, but sage does. and she adores puzzles right now. turns out they are the perfect broken leg activity too. these finished puzzles are her pride and joy...she does them over and over again.

we've got a nice three weeks of scooting around our loft (sage) and constantly mopping the floors (me, because i hate the thought of S scooting on dirty floors) ahead of us. i've learned quickly how to lug both kids plus groceries and bags up and down our third floor walk-up apartment. a little kink in our summer adventuring plans, but we're hoping this leg heals well. poor sage!
